GC13, Sophia, and Hunter discuss Buddy’s Book (the first weekly episode we’ve had in a long time that wasn’t part of some special event).
So, this episode had drama; it had adventure; it had lions! (And shushing!) We can’t know what the story behind the lions is yet, but it’s a pretty sure bet that we’ll learn at some point.
Also, there is another mystery: where exactly is the Buddwick Public Library? It’s not in the main area of Beach City we’ve seen in the show, but it must be part of Beach City. Perhaps it’s near the movie theater…
Now if only we could get some fanart of some jubilant Rubies carrying Jasper around and singing about how great she is…

Someone on the sub reedit, with a sharp eye, noticed that a book with a cracked pot with traces of gold who could be a hint of Connie reading a book about Kitsugi:

People are beleving that could be a hint of Steven reparing corupted gems and stuff, but i have something else i ve been thinking about it, and i dind´t see anyone connecting (which makes me feel smart in a egotistical way)
So with that in mind, Kitsugi is about celebrating flaws, not only in pots but also in life, we go way back to Greg saying “if every porkchop was perfect we would´t have hotdogs” which reallys looks like what Kitsugi is about.
Celebrating flaws and not only going for a race for the perfection.
If i not missed anything, of course.
I thought the sock jock was obvious.
Sophia, do you have that link for your tumblr post about the “put your socks back on” bit?
The floating structure in The Answer isn’t the same as the Sky Arena. They have similar architecture and both have pillars, but the one in The Answer doesn’t have the amphitheater seats that the Sky Arena does. Even though the Sky Arena isn’t the same location as the one in The Answer, other evidence that it is a real location is that we see them take a warp pad to it.
There are also real lions that live in the desert.
It’s interesting to note that Steven and Rose both looked at the camera in this episode, specifically when Steven confirms Connie’s assertion that the Gems would look different in the past.
While I’m sure there is going to be an in-universe reason for the lions, Rose has a lot of symbolism in common with the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar. Ishtar’s prominent symbols include lions and an 8 pointed star.

At first glance, I thought Buddwick was the next town over from Beach City, and also where Connie lives because I don’t think she is an actual Beach City resident.
Rose just found them “lion” around. Eyyyyy!
