Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 14: Say Uncle

PodcastTitleGC13, Ken, Dakota, and Hunter discuss the crossover between Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa: Say Uncle. Many laughs were made out loud, and if you dislike Say Uncle then Ken will find you.

Clarence and Codename: Kids Next Door – and attempts to build support for a new Galactic Kids Next Door series – come up. The group also discusses the new Steven Universe game on mobile: Attack the Light.

Finally, Ken, Dakota, and Hunter show off their musical talents with their hit single: WACC SOF. 😉

Song of the week: Golf Quest Mini OST

With the release of Attack the Light Steven Universe finally has an RPG of its own (still no mithril putter though). Steven knows a thing or two about RPGs, and we can only assume that Golf Quest Mini isn’t the only one he’s played. 🙂 So to honor the new game, the Golf Quest Mini OST is the song (collection) of the week.

Plus Steven and Uncle Grandpa were playing on a Game Cube in Say Uncle, so we have to get some gaming goodness in here.

What #StevenBomb showed us about Rose Quartz

With Story for Steven coming up this week we figured it was finally time to reflect on what we learned about Rose Quartz during #StevenBomb. Rose’s Scabbard and The Return both gave us some good information—especially Rose’s Scabbard, as if the name wasn’t enough of a clue that it would feature the memory of Rose very prominently.

This is the second, and last, piece of lore implications from #StevenBomb.

Preview for Story for Steven

Is everyone ready to rock out with Mr. Universe? This has definite promise: good music, great visuals. And sad, because… Well, you’ll see. Story for Steven is the second of our three unaired season-one episodes, so don’t miss it on April 9 at 5:30 PM EDT.

Attack the Light available today

atliconWith all of the excitement about the crossover we almost forgot: the Steven Universe RPG, Attack the Light, finally released today! It’s $3 on iTunes and the Android marketplace.

Attack the Light is an RPG in the style of Paper Mario made for mobile devices, and the Steven Universe team was involved in building the game’s story and aesthetic (though obviously they had to leave the programming to the professionals). The reviews are looking good, so if you have an appropriate mobile device then definitely consider picking it up.

Immediate reaction to Say Uncle

Don’t worry bro, none of this is canon.

Well that makes our job pretty easy this week, now doesn’t it? 😉

Other than that… Well, it happened. Without it being canon there can’t be lore implications of any kind, and yet… Well, they slipped in confirmation of at least one fun fact for us: how Steven uses his gem powers. We’ll see if we can spin that into a full-length article, but it’s just confirmation of a pattern that had been observed before.

What to expect from Say Uncle

Good morning!

It’s coming. We didn’t listen. 😉

So, tomorrow’s the big day. Uncle Grandpa shows up to help Steven work on summoning his shield from his gem, indirectly saving the Crystal Gems’ lives and ensuring that humanity still has a chance for survival. All in a day’s work for a reality warper, right?

This one was written and storyboarded by the Steven Universe team (Jeff Liu and Joe Johnston if you’re curious), but the introduction of Uncle Grandpa to the mix makes things… Difficult to predict, to say the least.

Don’t forget that it’s on at 5:30 PM EDT (but showing up early is better than showing up late).

New episode: Story for Steven will air on April 9, 2015

Ah, the much-anticipated Story for Steven, our second season-one episode being aired in season two, is finally being aired next week. As much as we want to see an alligator, we probably won’t get it. We’ll definitely be tuned in at 5:30 PM EDT on April 9 though, just in case!

Greg tells Steven the story of how he met Rose Quartz.
