GC13 and Sophia discuss another favorite: Space Race.
Everybody loves Pearl, and this was a really good Pearl episode: there was so much emotion, it showed off Pearl’s qualities and her flaws so well, and she was reminded of how much she appreciates Steven.
Just in case Mirror Gem and Ocean Gem left any doubt about whether Gems were from space, Space Race definitely settled the question. That’s enough to give it some nice lore points (so thanks again to Pearl, this time for the exposition).
Finally, one more accolade for Pearl: she is a very good mechanic. So what if her ship couldn’t leave Earth? She built it in one day. Very impressive.

So… remember a comment on the previous podcast about Homeworld having the material and tecnology to deal with gem tecnology…
wink wink (i still don´t khow if my guess is bad or not).
The confusing bit in this episode is when Pearl says,”And maybe just for a second, from a distance, I could see what’s been going on without me.” That line seemed to have placed some importance on her despite the fact that she’s simply a Pearl…. maybe she just wanted to see the march of progress on Homeworld but that line is weird considering her background. Confessions: Used this line as possibly evidence against Pearls theory.
While Pearl opposes Gem oppression, she still carries a lot of Gem values, like an obsession with efficiency and order. She also seems the most apprehensive at adapting to human customs, and nostalgically longs for a society that she is more familiar with, even if she was a slave.
Yes of course.
Steven builds machines, not A.I. driven robots. Also, I think Steven would have a Cleffa or Clefairy, since they look like stars, and the Clefairy line can be male while the Chansey line can only be female. He might also have a Mega Sableye, since it literally uses a gem as a shield.
My other favorite jokes where Steven: “People have done it before, and we’re people!” Greg: “We are people…”. Also Pearl: “I think your calculations may have been off.” Greg: “They can’t be off if you don’t do any.”
